Originally restricted to the northeastern coast of Brazil before the release of captive animals in south east Brazil where it is an invasive species.
•Diet is primarily plant exudates and insects.
•They live in stable, extended families.
•Females flick their tongues at males to solicit breeding.
•Although not officially threatened, their habitat is being degraded and lost.
•The first new world monkey to have it’s genome sequenced.
Forests native only to east-central Brazil. Introduced to many other areas in South America
