Ott-orable

Last week we welcomed three Asian short clawed otters to the centre from Slimbridge WWT. Introducing sisters Irene, Shirley and Rita!

They have settled in incredibly well and already firm favourites with guests and staff alike.

Asian short clawed otters are native to South and South East Asia, where they live in family groups in and around mangrove swamps and freshwater wetlands. They feed on molluscs, crabs and other small aquatic animals.

They are threatened by habitat destruction, poaching and pollution! Be sure you stop by their enclosure on your next visit!
