•Smallest wild cat in Asia, and arguably the world.

•Feed mainly on rodents and birds.
•Mostly nocturnal.

•Both males and females scent mark by spraying urine.
•Hunt primarily on the ground.

•Habitat loss and spread of cultivation are problems for both the Indian and Sri Lankan populations. Some reported cases of trade in skins. In some areas hunted for food or as pests to livestock.
