Brand new for 2021, you can now camp overnight at the Moorings Family Camping Site, right next to the HCC!

Escape back to nature by staying one (or two) nights, where campers of all ages can enjoy a fun family time under the night sky next to some incredible animals!

Frequently asked questions

Do we need to book?


Yes, to enquire or to book please email enquiries@hemsleyconservationcentre.com




Do I need to bring my own tent?


Yes, you need to bring along your own tent(s). We do not have on site tent hire.




What time is check in and check out?


Check in opens from mid-day through til 4pm on the day of your arrival. On your departure day, please check out by mid-day. You can however spend the remainer of the day in the zoo.




What food and drink options are available?


We campsite is self catering and fully equipped with gas stoves, dedicated pot wash area and BBQ (Please no throw away BBQs or BBQs after 8.30pm). The Rainforest Tearooms are also open between 10 and 17.00.




Is there a quiet time?


We will kindly ask all guests to keep noise to a minimum after 8.30pm as this will be our quiet time until 7.30am the next morning.




Can I use a BBQ?


You may use a raised BBQ on your pitch, but please make sure you dispose of waste and hot materials correctly. Please do not use disposable BBQs on the grass due to fire risk.




Can we bring our dog?


Unforutnately we don't allow dogs for overnight stays due to the proximity to our animals and other guests.




Can I change the date once it is booked?


Unfortunately, because we only allow limited stays, we are unable to change dates after booking.
