What type of information do you collect?

 

We receive, collect and store any information you enter on our website or provide us in any other way. In addition, we collect the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet; login; e-mail address; and purchase history. We may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page. We also collect personally identifiable information (including name, email, password, communications); payment details (including credit card information), comments, feedback, product reviews, recommendations, and personal profile.

Some examples of the type of information we collect and hold about you are as follows:

  • Your full name and your title or an indication of the gender that you most closely associate with;

  • Birth date or alternatively a relevant age range;

  • Postal address;

  • Telephone number(s);

  • Email address;

  • Records of your correspondence with us;

  • Records of your purchases from us;

  • Bank or credit card details (if you purchase something from us or donate to us);

  • Donation and gift aid details (if you donate to us);

  • Information you enter into our websites and digital products and details of how you use those websites and digital products.

  • Dietary, accessibility, and mobility information;

  • Medical history and treatment details if you receive first aid whilst visiting the Hemsley Conservation Centre.

  • CCTV footage of those visiting our premises;

  • Photographs and digital images of individuals.

 

But we also collect, hold and process other personal data where it is appropriate and relevant, for example:

  • Details of why you have decided to support/contact us and how you may have heard about us and the work that we do;

  • Details of how you would like to be involved and what you intend to do with the information we provide;

  • Personal data about you that will enable us to be more precise in what we send you or how we approach you; and

  • For purely business-related reasons, including managing relationships with third party and partner organisations.

  • We will only process sensitive personal data also known as special categories of data (e.g. in relation to your health), with your explicit consent, for reasons of substantial public interests or where necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

 

How do you collect information?

 

When you conduct a transaction on our website, as part of the process, we collect personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address. Your personal information will be used for the specific reasons stated above only.

 

Why do you collect such personal information?

 

We collect such Non-personal and Personal Information for the following purposes:

  1. To provide and operate the Services;

  2. To provide our Users with ongoing customer assistance and technical support;

  3. To be able to contact our Visitors and Users with general or personalized service-related notices and promotional messages;

  4. To create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred Non-personal Information, which we or our business partners may use to provide and improve our respective services; 

  5. To comply with any applicable laws and regulations.

 

How do you store, use, share and disclose your site visitors' personal information?

 

Our company website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.  

 

All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by our company adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

 

How do you communicate with your site visitors?

 

We may contact you to notify you regarding your account, to troubleshoot problems with your account, to resolve a dispute, to collect fees or monies owed, to poll your opinions through surveys or questionnaires, to send updates about our company, or as otherwise necessary to contact you to enforce our User Agreement, applicable national laws, and any agreement we may have with you. For these purposes we may contact you via email, telephone, text messages, and postal mail.

Communications and Marketing

We can contact you by post and telephone, and, where you have provided consent, by e-mail, to let you know about our events and activities (including mention those of third parties, particularly where they are collaborating with us or sponsoring our events) that might be of particular interest to you; retail offers and promotions, or about the work of the Hemsley Conservation Centre more generally. We provide the opportunity for you to opt-out from receiving our marketing communications every time we contact you.

You can opt-out from receiving our marketing communications or update your contact preferences at any time by emailing your requested changes to enquiries@hemsleyconservationcentre.com It can take a few days to process your preference changes so please bear with us.

CCTV Monitoring

Nearly all areas of our site are equipped with CCTV. Where in use, CCTV cameras are there for the protection of all visitors and customers, staff and third parties, animal welfare, and to protect against theft, vandalism and damage to Hemsley Conservation Centre goods and property.

Generally, recorded images are routinely destroyed and not shared with third parties unless there is suspicion of a crime, in which case they will be turned over to the police or other appropriate government agency or authority.

This section is not meant to suggest that you will in fact be monitored or your actions are subject to constant surveillance. It is meant to bring to your attention the fact that such monitoring can occur and results in the collection of personal information.

First Aid and Medical Treatment

If you receive first aid or medical treatment whilst visiting the Hemsley Conservation Centre, we have a legal obligation to collect your personal information to record and manage your injury and/or treatment.

As a rule, the Hemsley Conservation centre collects personal information directly from you. If you are unable, for whatever reason, to provide this essential information, we can ask a relative or friend accompanying you to provide it.

We share your personal information with our employees to assist us with recording and managing your treatment and/or injury. We use Business Safe, provided by Peninsula as our third party software provider to report injuries sustained and treatment received at the Hemsley Conservation Centre.

In most cases, your data will be deleted after 3 years after any incident or treatment.

Members

To effectively manage a membership contract, we collect and maintain different types of personal information in respect of those who are purchasing or receiving a membership. Personal data including name, address, date of birth, telephone number; email address, bank account details, method and date of payments, contact details of a carer and member’s photos.

We are legally obliged to keep any financially related personal information for seven years; other personal information is deleted one-year post membership with photographs being deleted six months after you membership has lapsed.

Privacy Policy Update

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.
