Role

We are looking for dedicated, hard working and passionate individuals to join our team at the HCC.

The role will comprise from everything to making sure the centre is clean and presentable for our guests and visitors, sorting animal food and preparing animal feeds, assisting with keeper talks and experiences to helping care for our animals at the centre (based on experience - references required).

Volunteering roles are a fantastic opportunity for you to gain vital experience and knowledge if you are looking to work with animals in the future or if you already have experience it is a great way to gain knowledge of working with new species.

We also take on volunteers who are interested in gardening and maintenance around the centre. Equipment and PPE is provided but please ensure you have a pair of steel toe capped boots.

The work at the centre is very physical and we expect you to be able to work independently as well as under supervision.

We are only able to offer volunteers after a successful interview and we ask that you understand that not all candidates are suitable.

Please note that all work placement vacancies are voluntary and unpaid.

Please also note that work placement positions are in very high demand and therefore it is essential that you contact us as early as possible! Unfortunately, we are only able to take on volunteers aged 18 and above.

You can volunteer from just one day a week and your hours are from 8:00am till 4:00pm
