Our Meet the Meerkats experience offers you the chance to get up close to these highly sociable and fascinating creatures whilst giving them some of their favourite snacks, making your day at the HCC a truly special one!
After meeting your keeper and a quick briefing, you will head over to our meerkat enclosure where you will spend time with our meerkats and ask any burning questions!
It is truly an experience to remember whether for you or a gift for a loved one! Not only that, you’re helping us continue our work!

Free admission into the zoo for the participant. (Only select admission tickets for spectators).

Are you a fan of meerkats? Want to spend some unforgettable time with these inquisitive little animals? It's easy! Book a meerkat experience for yourself or as a gift, and discover why our meerkat encounters are one of the most popular experiences at the HCC.

Experiences are valid for 12 months from date of purchase and must be booked and completed before expiry.

The encounter is available for adults and children over the age of 5 years old; however children between the ages of 5-10 years old must be accompanied by a spectating parent or guardian paying normal zoo admission (1 adult per 1 child). Any other guests wishing to watch the experience will need to pay normal centre admission prices.

A maximum of two people may take part in the experience.
Booking Protection for Animal Experiences
We understand that plans can sometimes change. If you think there’s a chance you may need to reschedule your animal experience, we strongly recommend adding our Booking Protection at the time of purchase.
Booking Protection allows you to manage and amend your booking yourself, up to 24 hours before your scheduled start time, quickly and conveniently, without needing to contact our team, meaning a quicker service for you.
All bookings are strictly non-refundable. However, with Booking Protection, you have the flexibility to reschedule your experience if needed within the permitted timeframe.
This approach helps us keep things running smoothly behind the scenes. By offering a simple booking protection option, we can reduce the need for additional administrative staff. In turn, this allows us to avoid increasing the overall cost of our experiences, so we can continue to offer great value while maintaining high-quality care for our animals and guests.
Please note: without Booking Protection, bookings are non-transferable and cannot be amended.

Regrettably certain guests will be unable to take part including people with relevant phobias or known allergies, pregnant women and immunocompromised individuals.
Whilst every effort is made to accommodate those with a disability or learning difficulty, due to practicality and health and safety this cannot always be achieved; please contact us for advice before purchasing.
Dress Code
Please come suitably dressed for your experience. You must wear closed toe shoes such as boots or trainers and trousers or jeans. We may not be able to provide your experience if you do not come suitably dressed.
