StATus

•Suffered over a 95% population decline since year 2000. Numbers fell from over 750,000 to less than 2300.

•The only species in it’s genus.

•Total length = 95-110cm

•They are a diurnal (up during the day) species.

•Habitat loss is their biggest threat but still caught for the pet trade and to be eaten by local people.
