Capybara & Tapir Experience
Meet one of Brazil's most ancient creatures and the world's largest species of rodent with our Tapir & Capybara experience! Tapirs have roamed the earth for 35 million years, and now you can encounter them right here at the HCC along with our very popular capybara. This will make your visit unforgettable!
This experience will usually take place in the tapir paddock - Please ensure you bring appropriate footwear (welly boots) as the paddock can be wet and muddy at certain times of the year.

Will last around half an hour and includes:

Free admission into the zoo for the participant.

The chance to interact with our tapir.

The opportunity to learn about these amazing animals and ask our keepers any questions you may have.

Experiences are valid for 12 months from date of purchase and must be booked and completed before expiry.

The encounter is available for all over 16 years old. Any other guests wishing to watch the experience will need to pay normal centre admission prices.

A maximum of two people may take part in the experience, but please note the experience is priced per participant.

Regrettably certain guests will be unable to take part including people with relevant phobias or known allergies, pregnant women and immunocompromised individuals.
Whilst every effort is made to accommodate those with a disability or learning difficulty, due to practicality and health and safety this cannot always be achieved; please contact us for advice before purchasing.
Dress Code: Please come suitably dressed for your experience. You must wear closed toe shoes such as boots or trainers and trousers or jeans. We may not be able to provide your experience if you do not come suitably dressed.
