Our junior zookeeper experience is our most popular experience and lets the younger generation get their hands dirty! Our junior zookeepers will join one of our keepers in helping care for a wide range of animals here at the centre, and learning about what it takes to look after them!
It is truly an experience to remember! Not only that, you’re helping us continue our work!

Your experience...
Starts at 11am and finishes around 1.15pm:

Free admission into the zoo for the participant. (Only purchase admission tickets for accompanying adults and guests).

The opportunity to get stuck right in and follow one of our keepers for the morning.

Meet and help to care for an array of our animals from meerkats to wallabies and armadillos! As a junior zookeeper, you'll be helping out with all tasks that we carry out at the zoo, including:

Cleaning, feeding, health checks and enrichment making!​

The opportunity to learn about these amazing animals and ask our keepers any questions you may have.

Please arrive at the centre for 11am. To ease the booking in process, please have your vouchers or booking confirmation ready for us to scan!

Experiences are valid for 12 months from date of purchase and must be booked and completed before expiry.

The encounter is for children of the ages of 5-14 years old; however participants must be accompanied by an adult (subject to general admission). Admission for the experience participants is included.

Dress Code: Please come suitably dressed for your experience. You must wear closed toe shoes such as boots or trainers and trousers or jeans. We may not be able to provide your experience if you do not come suitably dressed.
