Meet Barney: Our New Red Ruffed Lemur Arrives

Barney has arrived! 🧡

We’re delighted to introduce Barney, the first of our red ruffed lemurs to make his appearance here at the zoo.

Native to the rainforests of Madagascar, red ruffed lemurs are now critically endangered. Habitat loss and hunting have led to significant population declines, making them one of the world’s most threatened primates.

Barney has settled in fantastically and is gradually being introduced to his new neighbours as he explores his home with us. 🌿
