We are delighted to announce the arrival of a pair of Moholi galagos, also known as bushbabies, at the Hemsley Conservation Centre. These fascinating nocturnal primates are native to southern Africa and are well known for their large eyes, incredible jumping ability, and distinctive calls.
The new arrivals have settled in well and are already exploring their specially designed habitat, which provides plenty of space for climbing, leaping, and hiding, just as they would in the wild. Our team is closely monitoring their progress to ensure they continue to thrive in their new environment.
Moholi galagos play an important role in their ecosystems, particularly in insect control and seed dispersal. By welcoming them to the HCC, we hope to raise awareness about these unique animals and the importance of conserving their natural habitats.
Visitors have the opportunity to spot these elusive creatures in Fragile Forests at Night.
